Are We Actually Living In Dual Personality??

What a great revolution IT has brought in our lives by introducing social networking on web. This is the best gift to all the youngistan people in the 21st century . Today we are surrounded by a large number of social network sites such as Facebook, Twitter, orkut…..and many more which have million of users who incorporate these sites into their daily lives, checking their profiles multiple times a day. one of the main reason for its popularity is that it is really for the people, bringing every kind of social group together in one place and letting them interact is really a big thing indeed.

These sites were introduced after 1997 and the popularity has increased in a exponential manner. By taking an example of the well known site Facebook, which was launched in February 2004 has 500 million active users till July 2010. and still counting.

Isn’t the figures sound amazing … !!

Though social networking proves to be advantageous in many contexts yet it has been emerged as reason for disaster of one’s own life. If we put some light on the darker side of this great invention… then we all will be shocked by analyzing its consequences.

if we put some light on the darker side of this great invention… then we all will be shocked by analyzing its consequences.

You must have heard of the term “Facebook Addiction,” “Internet Junkie” or “Net Junkie”? Any of these labels sound familiar? These unflattering labels are used to categorize an individual’s obsessive dependence with the Internet, more commonly known as Internet Addiction Disorder, or IAD. People suffering from such disease are being forced to portray themself as refined person with flawless quality, just to survive in the cyber world of materialism, glam and so called friendliness.

The extravagance of one’s personality during social networking leads to identity crisis. In this era of so hi-tech technology, I guess human beings have restricted themselves into four walled rooms and with one to many interactions through these sites. We are being fooled by ourselves with the varied personalities on the internet and off the internet.

Being plugged in means to pay a lot of attention to a lot of things at once, we can get overwhelming and stressful. It is as if the floodgates were opened and everyone jumped into one big pool trying to get seen and heard while at the same time trying to share and connect as much as possible. This is forcing us to spend time as much as possible on internet and cutoff our personal time to ourselves and our families.

This disposal of time versus the benefit of engagement needs to be balanced at some point otherwise we will create a culture where private time, thinking time, and contribution time are nearly gone. Sometimes we even use the words beyond humanism and humbleness, all to win the race in getting popular and famous.

Ofcourse no body knows you and nobody can see you…you may be very ugly looking but your presence of mind and sense of humor..all helps you getting good amount of followers..that what counts..!! Its just the matter of what you write no matter you may in real life be against of that fact. If people are appreciating your writing, you don’t have to think even once about whether its right or wrong..

This leads to death of your thoughts and your views.. It simply creates your mirror image which is exactly opposite to you.. And obviously more popular than you… But the real you is what matters who has lost deep beneath many shadows of this ruthless and selfish net world…!!
